Dr Kanyik uses the following step-by-step process during an emergency at the hospital:

Evaluation

As an attending Physician, Dr Kanyik provides treatment to patients in Melomed’s emergency ward. Depending on your condition, he may ask a nurse to start an intravenous (IV) line. Blood or urine samples may also be taken, and you may be sent for an x-ray depending on the nature of the condition. The results could be available within a short time, so we can diagnose and treat you as soon as possible.

Re-evaluation

Dr Kanyik will re-evaluate your condition after receiving your test results. After your re-evaluation, Dr Kanyik will determine whether you should be admitted to the hospital or treated and sent home.

Discharge

Dr Kanyik provides patients with thorough home-care instructions to follow when you are discharged. The instructions will describe how you can safely care for your wound or illness, directions for your prescribed medications and recommendations for follow-up medical care. It is important to make sure that you fully understand all the instructions. Dr Kanyik has an open door policy and will answer any questions that you may have. Please feel free to contact him if there are any issues regarding your injury or illness.
